A selection of James Boswell’s sketches and painting were on display in the main hall of Tate Britain in June 2006. The British Museum also mounted a display of Boswell's work in their new gallery in September/October 2006. Boswells' sketchbooks can be viewed by appointment in the Tate archive. A number of his drawings are in the Prints and Drawings Department of the British Museum; sketch books and drawings from the same period are in the archive of the Imperial War Museum.
